Swedish Program Logo

The Swedish Program poses a compelling intellectual and cultural challenge: to develop an understanding of how Sweden addresses political, economic, social, and artistic issues relevant to all advanced societies. This challenge reflects Sweden's impressive history of innovative responses to issues such as financial downturns, environmental protection, immigration, health-care, education, and gender equality.

These topics are likewise studied in an interdisciplinary and critical tradition. Our objective is to promote a comprehensive view highlighting the country's achievements as well as its contemporary problems. Students and scholars come from all over the world to study Sweden. The country's appeal extends beyond its social and political institutions to its rich traditions in the arts, humanities, and science.

We are committed to challenging our students intellectually and culturally. The challenge of intercultural education is to learn about the institutions and people of a different culture as you gain a better understanding of yourself and your own country. The distinctive features of the Program – our curricular breadth, high academic standards, commitment to cultural integration, university setting, and small size - effectively promote this multifaceted learning experience.

We are a small program within a larger international university allowing us to bring you the best of both worlds. For example, our students take small classes - IN ENGLISH - and get to know their professors and other students from around the globe. At the same time, as registered Stockholm School of Economics students, you have the benefits of being part of a large campus with access to all of SSE's facilities, events, student clubs, and social activities.
