Visiting Your Student Abroad
Some of you may be fortunate enough to be able to visit your student while abroad. This is a very rewarding experience - having your student as your expert guide with improved language skills and familiarity with local surroundings. Such visits are best after final exams and program commitments have ended. This timing eliminates the stress for your student that can result when there are competing priorities between needing to study and complete academic work and wanting to spend time with their visiting loved ones.
Please also understand that family and friends cannot join in program activities or classes, and host families and roommates cannot be expected to accommodate guests. There are often rules against overnight guests in any program living arrangements.
