Welcome to SAGE!
Greetings to our Visitors!
What is SAGE? The acronym stands for Study Abroad and Global Education and SAGE provides a unique academic opportunity for you to extend the critical inquiries begun in the Core sequence and your other classes at Scripps to a semester outside of Claremont. Studying, interning and living in a new environment for a semester, whether in another country or on an internship program in Washington D.C. or as a visiting student in Atlanta or Honolulu helps to develop the intercultural competence and innovative leadership skills required for success in our increasingly interdependent world. There is an interesting journey ahead of you as you explore the SAGE possibilities and determine whether a SAGE experience is right for you. The path starts here!
The SAGE office is here to support students as they consider whether a semester outside of Claremont is an option they want to include in their academic career at Scripps College. Our office includes the director, Neva Barker, and the assistant director, Tressi Turkmany, along with a talented team of student interns who provide programming throughout the semester like SAGE Chats (informal gatherings with Scripps SAGE returnees), and the Annual SAGE Fair that happens each fall. Watch the Announcements box on this page for information on the fair, the weekly SAGE Information Sessions and other events throughout the year. We hope you will visit often.
If you would like to view a snapshot of the many options available through SAGE, you can hear directly from Scripps students who have returned by browsing through the profiles of SAGE alums on the main Scripps College web site.

Our office is in Balch 136 (behind the auditorium) and we are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. (Students - log in with your Scripps single-sign on to use the Meet an Adviser tab to request an appointment). The phone number is (909) 621-8306.

We are looking forward to working with you as you plan for a program abroad or in some of the options available in the United States. Welcome again, and let us know when you want to get started on the SAGE journey.
